About

Sitio Design is a landscape architecture firm dedicated to site specific design for residential and commercial projects. The company was established in Austin, Texas by Curt Arnette in 1995. Curt grew up in Austin and spent his childhood exploring the Barton Creek Greenbelt, Zilker Park, and the Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail. He has a great appreciation for the natural beauty of the Hill Country combined with a love of art and architecture. Curt received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Texas A&M University in 1990. He worked for five years at the office of James E. Keeter, FASLA. During this time he was able to work on such notable projects as Fiesta Texas, the San Antonio Riverwalk, Marktplatz in Fredericksburg, HEB Corporate Headquarters, the HEB Foundation Camp, and USAA Corporate Offices. Upon returning to Austin, Curt worked for J. Robert Anderson, FASLA while starting his own design office, Sitio Design. The word “sitio” was chosen because of its Spanish meaning of site, place, location, and space. Curt believes that designing the land should be unique for each project based on the client’s functional needs, environmental constraints and opportunities, and aesthetics. Sitio Design offers design services from conceptual planning and design development to construction drawings and construction observation. The firm prefers to stay involved in all aspects of the project to ensure that the final product exceeds the expectations of the client.
